The Hotel is centrally located in the new part of the city, within easy reach of modern Jerusalem's lively center, theatres, shops and businesses, whilst it is still within walking distance of Jerusalem's major historic sites and the fascinating Old City. The hotel is also conveniently situated close to public transport to many sections of the city. An array of cultural and historic sites are within walking distance, including the picturesque Yemin Moshe neighborhood, the Menahem Begin Center, Mount Zion, and the fascinating Old City of Jerusalem, with its exotic bazaar and amazing archeological sites. The Old City is home to some of the most important religious sites in the world for Jews, Christians and Muslims.

Fee for participants includes: meeting kit, program and abstract book, participation in all scientific sessions, 3 lunches, coffee at breaks, half day tour (May 17) and professional tour (May 18).

HALF DAY TOUR

There will be two optional, half-day tours offered for the afternoon of Tuesday, May 17, 2011. Registrants will have a choice of which tour they wish to participate in:

  • Classical Old City Tour – Panoramic view of Jerusalem, walking tour of the Old City and Mt. Zion: Jewish Quarter, Cardo, Western Wall, Arab Market.
  • Christian Interest Tour - Panoramic view from Mount of Olives, visit Dominus Flavit, Gethsemane Church, Western Wall, Via Delarosa, Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

Please indicate your tour choice on your registration form.

PAYMENT

Payment for registration fees must be paid directly to the Secretariat and can be made by check, bank transfer* or credit card. Kindly refer to the registration form for details. Please ensure that registration forms are submitted together with payment (one per participant) and that details stated are clear and legible.
*Please ensure that the name/s of the participant/s and Congress are clearly stated on the bank transfer.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Our refund policy is based upon receiving notification as follows:

  • Received until January 1, 2011 - full refund less US$100 handling fee
  • Received after January 1 and before April 1, 2011 - 50% refund
  • Received from April 2, 2011 - no refund

LETTER OF INVITATION

Upon request, you can receive a personal letter of invitation to participate in the meeting; to do so please contact Phyllis Weintraub, phyllisw@volcani.agri.gov.il. It should be understood that such an invitation is only meant to assist participants raise travel funds or obtain a visa and does not represent a commitment on the part of the Organizing Committee.

VISAS

Please allow at least two months for processing.

It is important to verify that your passport has a validation date after 30 November 2011 – 6 months after the meetings – otherwise you will not be able to board the airplane and depart to Israel.

CLIMATE AND CLOTHING

The temperature in Jerusalem in May is approx 24oC (75oF) during the day, and cooler at night. We suggest you bring lighter clothing for the day and a jacket for the evening.

FLIGHTS AND TRANSPORTATION

Direct flights exist from most major airports in northern America, Europe, India, China, Thailand and Africa by El Al Israel Airlines as well as by other International carriers. If you need advice on the most cost-effective routes and airlines please contact your local Travel Agent.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Personal travel, luggage and health insurance are recommended. Please purchase this from your local travel agent. Kindly note that the organizers and other sponsors cannot be responsible for participants lacking appropriate insurance coverage in case of need.
